The Global Leadership Forum meets with Welfare Minister Herzog

At the meeting a variety of issues were discussed including Meir Panim’s work within Israeli society, ensuring food security for Israeli citizens, and the relationship between these issues and Jews of the Diaspora. The minister commended Meir Panim’s activities and expressed his appreciation for Meir Panim’s noble work.

Meir Panim's Global Leadership Forum

The group toured Meir Panim’s branches and projects across the country and learned about what it means to be poor in Israel and the various methods Meir Panim uses to help alleviate poverty. The group met with local mayors and personally distributed food-shopping cards to needy families.

Soldiers Collect Donations for Meir Panim

The soldiers were very successful, (who can say no to a uniformed soldier?) collecting large amounts of fruits, vegetables, non-perishables, and chicken. The soldiers loaded Meir Panim’s refrigerated truck with the food, which was brought directly to Meir Panim’s free restaurant in Jerusalem and was cooked into a delicious meal for several hundred diners.
