Meir Panim’s Restaurant-Style Soup Kitchens are a dignified alternative to traditional soup kitchens, providing 2,600,000 quality meals annually in a comfortable dining setting to impoverished Israelis. Designed to have the look and feel of a restaurant, the five branches across Israel in the cities of Tzfat, Jerusalem, Dimona, Tiberias, and Or Akiva, provide a warm and relaxed atmosphere, preserving client’s self-esteem while developing camaraderie and a sense of community.
Our diners come from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds and range from families with young children to the elderly, including Holocaust survivors. Meals are served by Meir Panim’s team of branch managers and volunteers who provide more than just a nutritious meal. They offer a warm smile, sympathetic ear and a helping hand to all our patrons. For many, Meir Panim provides them with their only hot meal of the day.
