When Bezalel Graber’s mother, Chavatzelet, wrote to us to set up a volunteering morning on his upcoming Bar Mitzvah trip to Israel, it was such a special Meir Panim moment!
Chavatzelet’s brother in law, Rabbi Dov Schreier, had written us similar emails for each of his six children (one who is now all grown up and a mother herself!), who as a part of celebrating their milestones into Jewish young adulthood, came in and volunteered at Meir Panim’s Jerusalem Restaurant Style Soup Kitchen. As Dov’s youngest son was here just last year, we are able to continue to share experiences with this wonderful extended family with Bezalel.
Bezalel came in with his grandfather on a cold Jerusalem morning, and worked together with our amazing team of staff and volunteers, especially with our long-time volunteer hailing from the US, Ellen Tiles.
We were so honored to be a part of this multi generational volunteering, and were grateful for the hands on energy and kindness that they provided to Meir Panim Jerusalem.
We wish all of the best wishes to the extended Graber and Shrier families, and a hearty mazal tov on Bezalel’s bar mitzvah.
