Meir Panim Update
Tu Bishvat Celebration In Or Akiva
January 1, 1970

The project which was run by Meir Panim, the Lechem Foundation and The Jewish Federation of Miami included a special ceremony that was followed by a crafts project that included interpretations of the Jewish Arbor Day from the Tanach and Maimonides. After tasting traditional Israeli fruits such as dates, figs, grapes, pomegranates and olives, all participants were given small herbal plants to take home. It was a very symbolic way to commemorate the new year of the trees.
