Family and friends were asked to donate to Meir Panim in honor of Sophie’s Bat Mitzvah…and the response was overwhelming. To date, Sophie has raised over $18,000 for Meir Panim!

“When I learned about the hungry children and adults in Israel, I wanted to help,” said Lewittes. “A lot of people do not realize that there is so much poverty in Israel and that there are people who need basic necessities like food. The fact that Meir Panim serves food to anyone who needs it means a lot to me. I hope this will inspire other Bar/Bat Mitzvahs to give to Tzedakah.”

The thousands of impoverished Israeli children and families who have benefitted from Sophie’s efforts share our appreciation and best wishes to Sophie and her entire family. Mazal Tov!
