Meir Panim Update
Normalcy Returns to Sderot
December 3, 2019

At Meir Panim, we are thankful for the sense of calm that has returned to the Sderot area. Our centers are back in motion. Professionals have been paying special attention to helping young adults who may be struggling with mental health issues from the situation.

Here is our center’s wrap-up for early December:

Neviim Center:

The Neviim center enjoyed a dedicated girl’s night, which has been growing more popular every week. Their animal (therapy) weekly workshop is back in action this year and our staff are observing how much comfort the animals bring to the group.

Nir Am:

The Nir Am center had a night dedicated to preparing for the army enrollment process and how to best use personal time until enlistment actually begins (the enlistment process can be rolling so that some high school students have a few months free until they actually begin).

Ben Gurion:

The Ben Gurion center is so popular that 14 teens have recently enrolled in the program. Community activism is one of the most popular programmatic initiatives the teens plan here. Through promoting special events and celebrations, many young children and elderly seniors also frequent the center and join in the festivities.
