Meir Panim Update
Meir Panim’s Support for a Displaced Young Family
February 12, 2024

Evacuated from their home in Metula on Israel’s northern border, her husband fighting in reserve duty, and with a three-year-old son and another baby on the way, a recent patron reached out to Meir Panim for help.

Not knowing where to look, or how long she will remain away from her home, she has been staying with her parents in the Or Akiva area. After connecting with our branch manager, Ilanit Hafuta, she was reassured that “we got this.” A couple days later the young mother arrived at our branch, greeted by a table full of wrapped gifts for her baby’s imminent arrival – packaged with love. Never those to overlook details, the team also purchased gifts for the soon-to-be big brother!

This beautiful mother was embraced like a part of the Meir Panim family, and despite her fears and longing for her husband at war, was in awe of the “magic” and peace of mind that Meir Panim was able to provide to her and her family.

With 80,000 people evacuated from Israel’s northern border, Meir Panim is providing help and support to anyone in need during this incredibly difficult time. With no timeline or sense of when a homecoming will be possible, the emotional and financial trauma that these displaced people are facing is insurmountable. We are honored to be a part of making it easier for them in any way possible – one person at a time.
