With the Jewish holiday season coming to an end, we are so proud of the record-breaking work we pulled off for this year’s High Holidays. With an unprecedented amount of volunteers, we worked day and night to ensure that Israel’s Holocaust Survivors and impoverished were able to celebrate the Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot just like anyone else would.
Throughout the country, thousands of Meir Panim volunteers delivered over 20,000 holiday baskets, and over $150,000 in pre-paid shopping cards to those in need. This is was a massive operation, far bigger than we’ve ever done before.
The holiday baskets were carefully packed with nutritious meals, yummy snacks, beautiful holiday greeting cards, and other necessities one would need for the holidays. We feel honored and blessed to provide this extra help for such an important holiday.
Distributing this many packages is no small feat and took an army of amazing people to pull off. It’s truly inspirational to see how many incredible volunteers and donors came together to help Israel’s impoverished during this Jewish holiday Season!
We are always humbled by the support we receive and amazed at how our community comes together to help those who need it most. Even though the holidays are over, Meir Panim’s doors remain open 24/hrs a day, providing anyone in need with hot meals and food packages that they can take home and enjoy!
