Meir Panim Update
Warming Hearts Every Day All Over Israel
March 1, 2021

The past week in Israel was one of the coldest in recent memory. Jerusalem had its first snow day in two years, and its heaviest snowfall since 2014. And when the bitter winter sets in, Meir Panim prepares to bundle up those who are left in the cold.

Early in the week, Meir Panim got a call from a family in the northern seaside city of Haifa. They explained that due to the economic crisis in Israel caused by the pandemic, they had lost their income.

They were in desperate need of warm blankets – theirs were old, tattered, and insufficient for the freezing weather. Within a couple of hours, Meir Panim created and delivered a care package for the family complete with heavy comforter blankets for the whole family.

Zichron Yaakov is another northern seaside city affected by the harsh weather. Meir Panim’s nearby Or Akiva branch was notified of a family there that was living without heat in their home.

Any winter would be uncomfortable without proper heating, but in this weather, it can be a matter of life and death. Ilanit and her amazing staff at the Or Akiva branch quickly jumped to action, and within hours, the family was supplied with radiators to heat the entire home.
