On April 30, 2014, the students of the Gan Miriam Early Learning Center in Riverdale NY participated in a trike-a-thon to raise money for Meir Panim, a tzedakah specially chosen by the Gan children.
Family and friends were able to support the children’s efforts by donating a lump sum or sponsoring a child per lap.
The preschoolers were very excited about the program and couldn’t wait for the big day!
On the morning of the event, the children brought trikes, bikes and scooters to school with them. Then down to the gym, where each class had three minutes to bike, scoot or run as many laps around the school gym as they could.
Controlled pandemonium erupted as the children raced to complete as many laps as possible!
The students were so proud to be able to raise money to help the less fortunate. Thanks to their efforts, over $3,000 was raised to feed the hungry in Israel.
What a wonderful experience for the children – learning the importance of giving tzedakah, while having fun at the same time!
Meir Panim is honored to be chosen by Gan Miriam as an organization worthy of their support. We extend our warmest gratitude to all of the participants, young and old, who made this event possible.
