During the trip, the group visited Meir Panim’s Free Restaurant in Netanya and was welcomed by branch manager Yaakov Pinto. The pastors were given a tour of the kitchen, a presentation about Meir Panim and served a lavish buffet of delicious food.
According to Rev. Dr. Robert Stearns, the pastors were very impressed at the breadth of social services available through Meir Panim and the vast amount of people who are effectively served. “I was gripped by seeing so many who were being helped,” said Stearns, an incredible friend to Meir Panim. “It was an amazing opportunity to offer a practical expression of love and care to peoples of many races and religions. Meir Panim’s expression of compassion for the needy was powerful and impacting.”
At the end of the visit, Eagles’ Wings and Rev. Dr. Robert Stearns presented Meir Panim with a generous donation. “We are excited about our growing partnership with Meir Panim,” said Stearns as he spoke about the Eagles Wings Feeding Program. “Together with Meir Panim we know we can be a living expression of the love of G-d to those in need, making a real difference in the lives of the people of Israel.”A strong supporter of Israel and Meir Panim, Rev. Dr. Robert Stearns first introduced the Feeding Program at the Day of Prayer For The Peace of Jerusalem; an event where hundreds of millions of people around the world join together to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. The event takes place yearly on the first Sunday of every October and in just a few years, has quickly become the largest Israel-focused prayer event in history. During the last event in October 2010, Eagles’ Wings and Rev. Dr. Robert Stearns presented Meir Panim a gift from the Eagles’ Wings Feeding Program in order to help needy and hungry people living Israel.
Meir Panim is very grateful for the continued support of Eagles’ Wings and Rev. Dr. Robert Stearns and looks forward to an ongoing relationship in the future.
