Every day, Meir Panim sends out hundreds of packaged meals to the needy from its five Restaurant-Style Soup Kitchen branches across Israel. Since COVID-19, most of these meals get prepared and packaged on-site by Meir Panim volunteers, but once in a while, it’s nice to be treated to something special.
Last week, Dan Koweity, a long time volunteer and supporter of Meir Panim, made a special gift for the speedy recovery of his sick relative.
A friend of Dan’s had just opened a pizza shop near the Jerusalem branch, so he made the connection and ordered pizzas to be distributed to Meir Panim’s local recipients! This incredibly special donation was not only able to provide hungry Israeli’s with a rare treat but also supported a local business struggling during the pandemic.
Each pizza was delivered with a special thank you note to the donor along with a prayer card for the health of his family member. If you or someone you know is interested in doing something similar with Meir Panim, please email [email protected] and we’d be happy to help you set something up.
