The Board of Directors of American Friends of Meir Panim is pleased to welcome Martin E. Levine as the newest member of its Board.
Based in Long Island, New York, where he lives with his wife Allison, Martin previously served on the boards of the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County and Shelter Rock Jewish Center. His professional background is in accounting and financial planning.
Meir Panim annually serves approximately 350,000 meals at its restaurant-style soup kitchens in Israel and provides 190,000 meals-on-wheels for elderly, home-bound and disabled Israelis. In addition, it distributes food shopping cards before holidays, delivers lunches to schools in impoverished neighborhoods, and hosts after-school programs and summer camps for needy children.
“To be selected to sit on the board of American Friends of Meir Panim is quite an honor. My family and I have been involved in Meir Panim’s work for many years and we are deeply devoted to improving the lives of Israel’s citizens,” said Levine.
Levine’s commitment to Meir Panim‘s lifesaving work and to the betterment of Israel renders him an invaluable asset to our board. May we work together to dispel the darkness in the lives of the 1.7 million Israelis living in poverty.
