Meir Panim‘s Tiberias Restaurant-Style Soup Kitchen was recently honored with a visit by a group of young pastors from Brazil who were touring Israel for the first time with Pastor Robert Stearns, founder and executive director of Eagles’ Wings Ministry. Stearns, a longtime supporter of Meir Panim, has been bringing Christians to Israel for many years in order to show them first hand the beauty, importance and truth about the Holy Land.
Stearns and his group entered the Tiberias Restaurant and were warmly greeted by branch manager Varda with a hug and a kiss, just like old friends. With the help of a translator, Varda shared emotional stories about some of the families who receive help from Meir Panim.
Mimi Rozmaryn, Director of Global Development for Meir Panim, provided the group with an overall picture of the many social welfare projects Meir Panim supports in addition to their soup kitchens.
Stearns explained to the group why he supports Meir Panim’s work, requesting that they take these stories to heart and bring them back to their churches. He encouraged each ministry to sponsor a day, a week, or more to feeding Israel’s impoverished citizens. Stearns reiterated that Eagle‘s Wings is committed to continuing their support of Meir Panim.
