Meir Panim Update
Meir Panim Responds to Crisis in Israel
January 1, 1970

Meir Panim is continuing to provide food and other services to the needy in Israel, including those affected by the violence. Meir Panim has increased its production of hot meals to be delivered to shelters in the south of Israel and to the brave reservists being mobilized.

2,000 care packages, containing food and toiletries, have already been delivered to soldiers at the Gaza border. A baking drive coordinated by Meir Panim’s Dimona branch produced delicious homemade treats that showed our soldiers just how much we appreciate them.

As public gatherings, including summer camp activities, within a 40 km radius of Gaza have been suspended, Meir Panim is distributing “Keeping Busy” packages to families in the affected areas. The packages contain crayons, coloring books, games and toys to keep children occupied and to lift their morale.

Day trips are being planned for the children of Meir Panim’s after-school clubs to provide a semblance of a normal summer vacation. At the end of the day, “Keeping Busy” packages and packaged meals will be distributed for the children to bring home.

Meir Panim will continue to provide emergency food and other critical support during this crisis.
