This project offers youth from immigrant families the opportunity to take courses in carpentry, painting and plumbing.
During the courses, students are encouraged to assist the elderly population in their specific field of study. This helps to create a sense of purpose and solidarity among the students while also filling the gap of loneliness among their aging neighbors.
Another part of the project consists of fixing, renovating and building community centers which allows the students to put their new skills to use.
This project is a joint venture run by Meir Panim, the Yokneam municipality and local businesses.
