Last week Meir Panim’s Restaurant-Style Soup Kitchen in Dimona hosted a lively and celebratory High Holiday dinner for area Holocaust Survivors.
This time of year can sadly be very lonely for elderly Israelis who may not have enough money to buy food, or do not have family members to ensure festive celebrations, and the staff of the Dimona branch wanted to put together this special event to bring some light to their lives and enable them to come together as a community.
The participants enjoyed vibrant music and some even got up to dance together after enjoying a special dinner prepared in honor of the upcoming holidays. They left with smiles – truly feeling part of the High Holiday season.
It is truly an honor for Meir Panim to be able to serve Holocaust survivors, who have been through so much, and lift their spirits, particularly before the new year.
