Shimon has been volunteering at Meir Panim’s Or Akiva branch for many years. 

No, he doesn’t serve hot food to the diners at our Restaurant-Style Soup Kitchen or deliver food packages for our Meals-on-Wheels program. 

Shimon is a plumber–and when Meir Panim needs help, they know who to call. 

For a person that needs to choose between food, medicine, and clothes, Shimon is a godsend. He does maintenance and plumbing work with no charge in the homes of Or Akiva’s impoverished, helping the needy in the kindest way possible. 

Shimon’s acts of kindness didn’t go unnoticed. His story even made it to the news! Showing Israel Meir Panim’s true colors, volunteers like Shimon make Israel a better place. 

Shimon is a hero and a true giver.
