Most of the children are already enrolled in Meir Panim’s after-school youth clubs. Many of their families cannot afford to send their children to summer camp. Meir Panim’s summer programs offer fun and educational activities for the children in a relaxed and supportive setting.
“If not for the Meir Panim summer camps, many of these children would be home alone, or wandering the streets,” said David Roth, President of American Friends of Meir Panim. “The program ensures that the children are spending their vacation in a safe, stable, and fun environment.”
Depending on the location, the programs run from three weeks to two months, from 8:00 am through 5:00 pm daily. All campers receive two nutritious meals each day.
In addition to activities such as swimming, arts & crafts and sports, the programs offer exciting field trips and special workshops in areas such as music, wilderness survival and archeology.
