The Pinkerts had the opportunity to see the program in action, and saw for themselves how the children are thriving. As for the children, they felt incredibly valued and encouraged by the visit from the friendly and caring American family.
Language was not an obstacle; the American guests were welcomed enthusiastically and immediately pulled into the club activities. From ball games to baking, everyone was busy, laughing and playing.
New friendships were formed, and email addresses were exchanged. The children now have new “Facebook friends.”
In addition to supporting the after-school youth club, several years ago the Pinkerts also funded the renovation of two shelters to be used as local community centers, offering lectures, youth programs, even simchas and other community events.
The Pinkerts are strong supporters of Israel and of Israel’s youth in particular. They believe that the children of Israel are the building blocks of a strong Israeli society.
We look forwarded to welcoming the Pinkerts back soon. They will always be welcome in Kiryat Shmona and at the Pinkert Family Center.
