Meir Panim Update
Inspiring Creativity in Meir Panim’s Ben Gurion Neighborhood Youth Center in Sderot
November 17, 2020

With Israel currently riding out its second wave of COVID-19, the country remains under strict guidelines which prohibit indoor gatherings and schools from reopening in person. While operating under these restrictions has certainly been a challenge for Meir Panim’s Neighborhood Youth Centers, the center’s staff have come up with creative ways to safely engage its teens under these unprecedented circumstances. With schools closed, the function of our Neighborhood Youth Centers are more critical than ever to the development and socialization of the communities we serve.

Just last week, the Ben Gurion Neighborhood Youth Center held an outdoor woodworking workshop. This was a fun, hands on experience for everyone who participated, and in the end they were able to build a whole set of outdoor furniture for the center’s yard!

Not only did everyone have a great time, but now our teens can enjoy the fruits of their labor and have a space for future gatherings.

We continue to pray for an end to the pandemic and for all activities to resume as usual in Meir Panim’s programs around Israel.
