The official delegation was impressed by the sheer size of the center and particularly its ability to produce and supply up to 200,000 meals per day, of which 30,000 will go to Meir Panim.
Mr. Litzman noted that the complex is being built on the site of the former Bagir textile plant, making this project so much more meaningful. The center, which is slated to open by the end of the year, will create some 200 new jobs for the local population in addition to providing food and social services to schools and families across the Negev.
Joining the tour was Mr. Aviram Dahari, Mayor of Kiryat Gat.
