Meir Panim Update
Bar Mitzvah boy volunteers at Meir Panim
January 1, 1970

Asher Zelig, along with his father and brother, volunteered at Meir Panim’s

free restaurant in Jerusalem. Decked out in a bright red Meir Panim smock,

he got to work behind the counter, preparing heaping plates of food for Meir

Panim’s diners.

This was not the Schreier family’s first visit to a Meir Panim facility. Rabbi

Dov Schreier, father of the Bar Mitzvah boy and Rabbi of the Young Israel of

North Bellmore, NY, is a longtime friend and supporter of Meir Panim. Rabbi

Dov has instilled his concern for the impoverished of Israel in his children,

who are continuing in his footsteps.

We wish Asher Zelig much hatzlacha. May he continue on the path of caring

and giving to the less fortunate.
