Created seven years ago, America Eats for Israel was started by Rambam students looking to make a real difference. The project started relatively small, first in Baltimore and then expanded to a national project working with students in schools around the country to organize a day where restaurants agree to donate ten percent of their profits on a specific day to the Meir Panim. On March 10th, restaurants nationwide and in Canada will participate.

Under the supervision of their teacher Mrs. Laurie Austen, the students have been hard at work on this project for the last few months. In addition to being able to partake with their families, students were given the opportunity to order lunch in from either of three different restaurants and stand outside participating restaurants with signs and tzedaka boxes to attract people to those restaurants. It was a fun day for all and all the hard work paid off.
