Meir Panim Update
Israel’s Soldiers Join in Meir Panim’s Dimona Center Chanukah Celebrations!
December 11, 2018

Meir Panim’s Dimona Restaurant-Style Soup Kitchen, not only organized special Chanukah celebrations for its regular patrons and the community at large, it also delivered a festive breakfast to Israeli soldiers serving in the area. As branch manager, Nissim stated, “Of course we do not forget the Maccabees of today!”

Seeing the happiness and surprise on the faces of these young and brave soldiers was truly touching. The soldiers expressed thanks to those who support and work for Meir Panim, as their Chanukah was truly brightened by those who remembered that they are serving to protect and maintain the safety and security of Israel rather than celebrating the holiday with their families and friends.

The Dimona branch is always blessed with special volunteers and visitors. Chanukah time was no different.

Volunteers from the Masa Israel program come nearly every week. This program sponsors 11th graders in order to build their self-confidence and strengthen their personal identity. Additional volunteers also came from the Rothenberg School in Ramat HaSharon.

The incredible festivities that Nissim and his staff arranged were enjoyed by young and old and included many Holocaust survivors.

Meir Panim is grateful to our incredible staff for the kindnesses they spread throughout this holiday season as well as all year long.
