Meir Panim Update
IDF Elite Unit Volunteers at Meir Panim’s Dimona Branch
November 8, 2018

Members of Duvdevan – an elite counter-terrorism unit of the IDF – are taking part in a sergeant course in an area near Dimona.

As part of their training, the soldiers are required to complete volunteering and community service. Recently a group chose to help Dimona residents by spending the morning at Meir Panim’s Restaurant-Style Soup Kitchen.

The soldiers prepared and served lunch to residents with smiles and conversation. They also packaged and loaded meals for delivery through Meir Panim’s Meals-on-Wheels program, and divided pallets of fresh fruits and vegetables into individual shopping bags for clients to take home.

After the Restaurant’s busy lunch rush trickled out, the soldiers cleaned the tables and mopped the floors. Whether fighting terrorism or fighting poverty, no job is too small for these leaders.
