Chanukah celebrations are in full swing at Meir Panim. We hope you will consider volunteering with us when you visit Israel!
Tzfat
Our Tzfat branch hosted local High School volunteers where they personally handed out sufganiot (doughnuts) to our patrons. This brightened the seniors’ holiday spirit and made their day!
Or Akiva
Children from Meir Panim’s Or Akiva branch gathered to volunteer during the Chanukah holiday in pursuit of doing good deeds. Their mission was to hand out Chanukah treats to children in a local preschool.
Additionally, the children also distributed the treats to neighborhood workers as they walked through the neighborhood under the supervision of the Branch Manager, Ilanit. Treats including suganiot (doughnuts) were also delivered to children at a local orphanage.
At the “Free Shuk”, where packaged fresh fruit and vegetables are distributed on a weekly basis, children volunteered by helping to prepare the packages.
In celebration of Chanukah, a Magic Show was held in Or Akiva for the children of the community.
Dimona
The spirit of the Chanukah holiday was palpable. In Dimona, a group of High School young women went above and beyond the call of duty. They played games, sang songs and ate holiday foods with the patrons and the seniors. What better way can a person spend Chanukah than by doing a good deed?
A special Chanukah celebration took place at the Holocaust Survivor Program in Dimona and Mayor Benny Biton joined the party!
The Holocaust Survivors were each gifted a blanket and a space heater which is well-timed since the rainy season has already started.
Meir Panim offers volunteer efforts all throughout Israel. Consider donating your time or money to a really important cause.
