Why We Need Your Help

Poverty in Israel

According to the latest poverty report in December 2021, nearly 2.5 million people were living below the poverty line in Israel; among them are over 1.1 million innocent children! Three in five Israeli children suffer from hunger, and almost half of the elderly living in Israel do not have enough nutritious meals.

The food and social service programs funded by American Friends of Meir Panim help alleviate the harmful effects of poverty. We aim to not only assist in the short term but provide long-term solutions to needy Israelis in order to break out of the cycle of poverty, and become self-sufficient.
